As a response to the increasing needs for permanent professional education of the students who are not able to attend lessons, in 2002/03, Belgrade Business School started its program of distance studies.

BBS’s goal is to create the opportunities to carry out the full-scope teaching with no need for students’ presence in the classroom and, following the development of information technologies, to raise the quality of instruction to the highest level.

The advantages of such mode of studying are obvious: students need not change their lifestyle; they need not neglect their families, jobs or social obligations; they study from home; they learn at the time that is most convenient to them; the study material is available for 24 hours a day; the total costs of studies are significantly lower. Through constant communication, professors achieve a direct and thoughtful relationship with students and, in many cases, adjust the program to students to achieve the maximum result.

Researches have showed that the students studying by such methodology are more inquisitive, disciplined, and independent, motivated and achieve up to 20% better success than those ones studying in the traditional way in the classroom. Due to legal restrictions, the exams are now being taken in the traditional way, in professors’ attendance.
